Kunisada was a prolific designer of woodblock prints. In an undated picture book entitled Toshidama Fude (i.e., New Year’s Brush) he included the thirteen pages of flower and bird pictures shown below. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Kunisada’s designs were intended to entertain their viewers so he drew his flower and bird subects in an entertaining way rather than accurately.
